Universal Store is a national fashion retailer focused on youth and lifestyle brands. With rapid growth and high product turnover, they were looking for a reliable and responsible way to manage faulty returns, damaged stock, and operational textile waste.
As their retail footprint expanded, Universal Store faced:
UPPAREL developed a national program that included routine textile collections across distribution and retail sites. Secure destruction was implemented for branded items, and our team ensured complete transparency through detailed monthly reporting and traceability.
Within the first operational cycle, Universal Store diverted more than 12 tonnes of textiles from landfill and saved an estimated 15,800+ kg of CO₂ emissions.
The partnership enabled them to significantly reduce waste-handling costs, enhance their sustainability credentials, and align operational processes with their long-term environmental commitments.
