RSEA Safety is Australia’s largest independent safety business, supplying PPE, workwear, and safety equipment to industries nationwide. Their challenge centred around end-of-life safety apparel, faulty branded garments, and strict brand-protection requirements.
The Challenge
RSEA needed a solution that addressed:
- Large volumes of end-of-life uniforms and PPE
- Brand-protection concerns around retired branded apparel
- Rising disposal costs and sustainability commitments across the business
Our Approach
UPPAREL implemented a secure, controlled recycling system across RSEA’s distribution network, including certified destruction of branded uniforms and PPE that could not re-enter the market.
We provided comprehensive reporting for internal sustainability tracking and met compliance expectations around destruction and material handling.
The Outcome
RSEA successfully diverted more than 9 tonnes of textiles from landfill over the course of 4 years, resulting in 34+ tonnes of CO₂ savings. The initiative reduced waste-management costs, ensured brand security, and supported RSEA’s mission to lead by example in workplace sustainability.
